The Power of Advocacy: How Janey Made the Impossible Happen for Lucy

Good day Everyone,

Caitlyn here, and I’m thrilled to update you on Lucy’s incredible journey. It’s been a month since we left the hospital, and the progress Lucy has made is nothing short of miraculous. But today, I want to shine a light on someone who has been Lucy’s biggest advocate and driving force behind her remarkable recovery: Janey.

From the moment we stepped out of the hospital, Janey has been relentless in her pursuit of the best possible care for Lucy. Despite facing administrative hurdles and delays in getting the necessary referrals, Janey refused to accept anything less than the absolute best for her daughter. And thanks to her unwavering determination, Lucy has received the personalized care and support she needs to thrive.

One of our biggest challenges was the lack of pediatric rehabilitation programs in our area. But instead of settling for less, Janey took matters into her own hands. She reached out to every contact she had, both old and new, and tirelessly advocated for Lucy’s needs. She asked the right questions, sought out alternative solutions, and ultimately created a custom-built intensive outpatient rehab program right here in Colorado Springs.

Thanks to Janey’s efforts, Lucy now receives around 20-30 hours of therapy each week, tailored specifically to her needs. From physical therapy at her old gymnastics gym to occupational therapy at a local art studio, every aspect of Lucy’s rehabilitation has been carefully curated to maximize her progress. And the results speak for themselves.

In just one month, Lucy has reached developmental milestones that were not expected for months, if ever. Her determination and hard work are evident every step of the way, but it’s Janey’s relentless advocacy that has truly been the driving force behind her success.

Janey, I want you to know how grateful I am for everything you’ve done for Lucy. Your love, dedication, and unwavering commitment to her well-being have been nothing short of astounding. And while we know there are still challenges ahead, I do not doubt that with you by her side, Lucy will continue to defy expectations and achieve incredible things.

So here’s to Janey, Lucy’s fiercest advocate and biggest cheerleader. We are beyond fortunate to have you in our lives, and we will be forever grateful for the love and support you’ve given us.
